Drunken Driver Crashes into School Sign, Parked Cars, Police Say

The woman has several prior arrests for DUI, according to court records.

A Willow Grove woman was arrested in late January after she allegedly crashed into a car — which hit three more vehicles — and a sign at Willow Hill Elementary School.

Robin Anne Farr, 50, of Warren Road, was arrested Jan. 22 just before 7:30 p.m. after she crashed into a sign on the school’s property and then crashed into a parked car after leaving TGI Fridays at Willow Grove Park mall, police said.

According to police, a witness said the woman, later identified as Farr, was driving westbound on Old Welsh Road, turned left onto Coolidge Avenue, and drove off the roadway, causing damage to the Willow Hill sign. The witness also said that Farr then drove through a stop sign and crashed into a parked car — which then hit three other parked cars.

Police said the first two cars struck were unoccupied and parked legally in the 1500 block of Coolidge Avenue; the third car struck as part of the chain reaction was parked in a driveway and was occupied. The witness then said Farr got out of her vehicle, a gold Dodge Intrepid, and collapsed on the ground.

Police said Farr smelled of alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes and was unstable on her feet; while speaking to police, she nearly fell over and had to be caught. No field sobriety tests were given due to Farr’s condition, police said.

According to court documents, Farr was arrested in June in Abington for DUI. She was also arrested in September in Upper Dublin for DUI and reckless driving. Farr also has two arrests for theft.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2 at 2 p.m. in front of District Justice John Kessler.
