Glenside Runner Safe After Boston Marathon Explosions

A Glenside resident who was running in yesterday’s Boston Marathon is safe following the explosions that rocked the finish line.
Jill Beccaris-Pescatore, a Montgomery County Community College professor, was participating in her first Boston Marathon yesterday. She finished 10 minutes prior to the explosions, according to a Philly.com story.
"It sounded like a cannon," Beccaris-Pescatore said in the story. "It definitely sounded like an explosion. People know that it didn't sound right."

According to multiple reports, three people were killed and almost 150 people were injured when two explosions went off near the finish line of the race at about 3 p.m. yesterday. No one has claimed responsibility for the explosions.

President Barack Obama addressed the nation at about 6 p.m. Monday.
From his address:
"We still do not know who did this or why. And people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before we have all the facts. But make no mistake—we will get to the bottom of this. And we will find out who did this; we'll find out why they did this. Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice."
Monday was the 117th installment of the storied race in Boston.
