Launched in June 2021, Holocaust Survivor Day is a celebratory day recognizing the resilience, strength, and spirit of survivors.

"Seed the Dream Foundation has been proud to support Philadelphia’s Holocaust Survivor Day program since 2021," organizers said.

Officially recognized in both the Commonwealth and Philadelphia in 2023 through proclamations by Gov. Josh Shapiro and then Mayor Jim Kenney, the day serves as a powerful reminder of survival, hope, and the importance of community.

"As the number of living Holocaust survivors continues to decline, it is the responsibility of the next generation to carry their stories forward and to ensure survivors have access to the care, connection, and support services they deserve to age with dignity," organizers said.
