Legacy Park Playground Will Be Built By Community
The Jenkintown School District has put aside a week this summer for the community to build a new playground at the park.
JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Legacy Park's makeover will be a community effort this summer.
The Jenkintown School District has announced that Legacy Park Community Build Week will be held from Tuesday, July 28, to Sunday, Aug. 2, bringing families, neighbors, and alumni together to support Jenkintown students and the community.
During the build week, two or three Play by Design consultants — which is overseeing the playground construction — will lead and supervise the volunteers who will build the playground. Volunteers will be separated into small groups to work on individual components of the project based on their skill levels.

The land work will be handled by Eustace Engineering. However, the "people power" to construct and put the playground together comes from the helpers far and wide who want to be a part of the Legacy project, school officials said.
The school district is seeking volunteers to sign up for shifts to build the playground. Each day, there will be three shifts that will have meals provided. See the flyer below

People of all ages and all walks of life are encouraged to come together to build the new park.
"We look forward to standing next to new friends, watching the children enjoy the playground we worked so hard to build. Everyone involved will have a sense of ownership and accomplishment," the school district said.
