Clayton's Gun Shop Sheds Light On Shooting Range Fire

The gun shop is trying to get its business going again after a fire destroyed its shooting range in Horsham Township last week.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The owners of the shooting range are speaking out about a fire that destroyed the facility last week.

Clayton's Gun Shop offered thanks for the community support after a fire gutted the Route 611 shooting range last Monday afternoon.

"This entire situation could have been far worse without the support of so many of you," said Clayton’s, a family-owned gun shop and indoor range that specializes in knife sales and training. "I would like to extend my most sincere gratitude to every person who called, texted, DMed, commented, stopped by, offered help, and most of all to our first responders."

Clayton's said in a Facebook post that the fire originated in the big range and spread to the small range, both of which were completely destroyed.

"As of right now, we are not certain what started the fire," Clayton's said. "Luckily, every person and animal was able to escape uninjured."

Clayton's said the storefront was relatively untouched by flames, but the smoke and water damage is quite severe.

The business is working with customers regarding firearms in the store or active memberships and trying to find ways to come up with definitive solutions on "remedying everything on the customer side of things."

The Horsham Township Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire last Monday afternoon that heavily damaged the Route 611 shooting range.

Lee Greenberg, chief of the Horsham Fire Co., told Patch that the bulk of the damage was contained to the shooting range. The shooting range suffered "significant fire and water damage."

Greenberg said no other buildings nearby had any fire damage. Clayton's Gun Shop sits in the middle of the K9 Resorts Luxury Hotel and the NaBrasa Brazilian Steakhouse.
