Marie A. Celia, Formerly of Rockledge

Marie A. Celia died Saturday, June 29 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her family. She was 89.

Born in Charleroi, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Domenick Issi and Mary (DiSandro) Issi.

She was the wife of the late Samuel Celia.

She was a 1941 graduate of Charleroi High School and later moved to Rockledge. Celia worked as a teletypist for Western Union starting her career in Charleroi and then moving to offices in Jenkintown and Philadelphia. She was a member of the Rockledge Civic Association, St. Cecilia’s Seniors and was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish since 1949.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia. A graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
