ABINGTON, PA — There is a one hundred percent COVID-19 vaccination rate among administrators at Penn State's Abington campus, along with 90 percent of full-time employees having gotten the inoculation, according to figures recently released by the suburban college campus.

Penn State Abington says that as of Sept. 7, all of the school's administrators are vaccinated against COVID-19. That figure is trailed by 90 percent of full-time employees indicating they're vaccinated, 94 percent of academic personnel (instructors, researchers and faculty), and 84 percent of nonunion staff.

Additionally, 74 percent of students living on campus have offered up proof of vaccination to the school while 55 percent of commuter students say they have received their protection against the virus.

More students, however, continue to upload their proof of vaccination each day, according to the university, so the current vaccination rate may actually be even higher at the time of publication of this story.

"We are gratified to see such a large percentage of our faculty and staff are vaccinated," Penn State Abington Chancellor Margo DelliCarpini said in a statement. "We are seeing more students upload their proof of vaccination as the semester gets underway and will be working to support all of our students in the vaccination process."

The school says it continues to take steps to support the health and safety of the campus population, including offering information on vaccine clinics and promoting vaccination through social media channels.

Penn State Abington had previously announced that unvaccinated students and staff would have to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing throughout the fall semester.

Students can upload copies of their vaccination records through myUHS.

Employees can upload their vaccination records through Salesforce Health Cloud.

The university says that throughout the course of the fall semester, COVID-19 vaccines will be made available on or near all Penn State campuses.
