Abington Patch: When did you open your business?

Pooh's Corner Consignment: I am the second owner and have owned the store since 2004, but the store has been in existence for many more years. We started out in Willow Grove and then moved to Roslyn. I believe the first owner moved to Roslyn around 1998. I used to be in the Roslyn Valley Shopping Center at 1327 Easton Rd., but moved across the street to Brookdale and Easton Rds. almost 2 years ago.

AP: Who is your ideal client or customer?

PCC: My ideal client is anyone who has children and would like to find very affordable quality merchandise. I have always shopped second hand myself and truly believe that is the way to go. Children wear their things for such a short period of time and so why spend a fortune on their clothes. I feel that consignment shops are a form of recycling as well and so I feel I am not only helping people who might not be able to afford a lot, but am also doing my small part for the environment. 

AP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?

PCC: We are unique in that we specialize in baby and children's items. We also try our best to donate to people in need as much as possible so we are constantly taking up collections for people who need things. In this way we are able to give back to our community as well.

AP: What’s your most popular item?

PCC: Children's clothing is very popular and baby gear is very popular as well. 

AP: What make’s your community special?

PCC: Roslyn is a very small, tight knit community. There are lots of young families here as well as grandparents who really appreciate a good bargain. 

AP: Where can customers find your specials?

PCC: I list a lot of our merchandise on Facebook and I also try and post what kinds of items we are looking for on Facebook as well. We always have half price merchandise as a color ticket goes half price at the beginning of each month.
