This is by no means a reflection on the members of the team or how hard they were working. Lacrosse is a sport where substitutes are necessary and where teams rotate players every few minutes to stay fresh. Not having the capability to make substitutions doesn't just make it hard to practice or play; it virtually eliminates their recovery time and as a result, makes them more susceptible to injury. I cannot in good faith continue to allow our student-athletes to be put in that kind of danger.”

Penn State Abington recently entered into a lease with the Abington School District to use the district's Memorial Field facility on Susquehanna Road. Instead of paying rent, the University will fund about $5 million in upgrades to the field.
