Memorial Field Meeting Tonight
The Abington School Board will hold a meeting at the district's administration building to discuss the proposed upgrades to Memorial Field.
The school board will host a community meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed changes and upgrades to Memorial Field.
The district entered into a 25-year lease agreement with Penn State Abington for the field, which is on Huntingdon Road between Susquehanna Road and Rosemont Lane, late last year.
Rather than paying rent, the university will make about $5 million in upgrades to the facility. In return, Penn State Abington’s athletic teams will be able to practice and compete on the grounds. Penn State Abington Chancellor Karen Wiley Sandler said in August that the money would come from the college’s capital fund.
