Ambler Candidate Community Meeting Coming Thursday

In preparation for the Nov. 5 General Election, Ambler neighbors are inviting candidates in the borough to a nonpartisan, free community meet-and-greet.

Cash bar, candidates and Q&A.
A group of Ambler residents, led by Allison Wolf and Karen Palmer, is inviting candidates running for office in the General Election Nov. 5 to meet with residents and business community members on Thursday evening at the downstairs room of From the Boot in Ambler.
The event, said Wolf, is free and nonpartisan.
"The evening ... is planned around education and information so
everyone should feel comfortable” said Wolf.
The program, she said, is meant to inform voters about Ambler Borough's three-ward system, its polling locations, and its current officeholders and their opponents.
Candidates invited include those running for mayor, council, tax collector and the Wissahickon School Board.
Candidates can present their "stump" speech and answer questions from the community.
“We are asking all candidates, the borough manager and the solicitor to share their role and responsibilities with attendees so that folks come away with a true understanding of how the borough operates," said Palmer. “When people enter the voting booth informed about their government, they are enlightened and thus empowered.”
The free community session kicks off with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. A civics lesson is set for 6 p.m., with speeches beginning at 6:15 p.m. The question-and-answer session will begin at 7, with everything wrapped by 8:30 p.m.
