Blue Bell Man Airlifted After Saturday Crash on Dekalb Pike
The accident occurred on Dekalb Pike near the intersection of Township Line Road shortly after 9:30 a.m.

An 80-year-old Blue Bell man was airlifted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in Whitpain.
The accident occurred on Dekalb Pike near the intersection of Township Line Road shortly after 9:30 a.m. The police report states that George Munce, 80, of the 1000 block of Elmway Circle, Blue Bell, was attempting to make a left turn onto Dekalb Pike from the parking lot of G & S Tires when his Buick sedan was struck on the driver's side by a GMC pickup truck traveling northbound on Dekalb Pike.
The driver of the pickup truck—identified as John Matish Jr., 57, of Bridgeton, NJ—was unharmed by the crash, but Munce sustained injuries that required an airlift to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Whitpain Police were assisted on the scene by Centre Square Fire Company and Second Alarmers Rescue Squad. The medevac was provided by PennStar.
