Elkins Park Man Crashes, Shears Utility Pole With Van: Police
Ian Noyes, 22, lost control on a wet Morris Road on Oct. 7 in Whitpain Township, police said.

An Elkins Park man lost control of his Dodge Caravan a wet Morris Road on Oct. 7, crashing into another vehicle and eventually flipping over the Honda and shearing a utility pole, police said.
Shortly before noon on Oct. 7, Whitpain Township Police responded to a two-car crash on Morris Road near Betsy Lane.
There, police said, a Dodge Caravan was found on its roof and a utility pole was found sheared at the base.
Police said Ian Noyes, 22, was driving the Dodge Caravan west on Morris Road and went to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. He lost control on the wet road and went into the oncoming lane, where his Caravan collided with an eastbound Honda Odyssey, police said.
The impact flipped the Caravan onto its roof and propelled it into a utility pole, shearing it off at the base, police said.
Noyes was taken by Second Alarmer's Rescue Squad to Abington Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.
Morris Road was closed between Butler Pike and Mt. Pleasant Avenue for 7½ hours while PECO replaced two poles, police said.
