Groundbreaking Complete on Second Alarmer's New HQ
Hollenbach Construction will be making the new Whitpain Township location for Second Alarmer's Association and Rescue Squad.

Groundbreaking occurred this week on the new Whitpain Township headquarters of the Second Alarmer's Rescue Squad of Montgomery County.
The new building will be constructed by Boyertown's Hollenbach Construction Inc. on the site of the Whitpain Township Municipal building property.
The $1.4-million project is expected to be completed by December 2013.
"We are very pleased to have been selected as the General Contractor and to lead the construction of this long awaited project for SARS. They have been serving Whitpain Township residents from temporary construction trailers on the township grounds since 2007," said Glenn Ebersole, strategic vice president of business development and marketing for Hollenbach Construction.
The Willow Grove-based Second Alarmer's Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, Inc. was founded in 1938 as a nonprofit pre-hospital emergency medical service provider.
The nonprofit serves residents in Abington, Upper Dublin, Upper Moreland and Whitpain townships, and Hatboro, Jenkintown and Rockledge boroughs.
It is also the primary-contracted EMS and heavy rescue company for 15 miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. near Willow Grove.
SARS responds to more than 12,000 emergency incidents each year. It is comprised of 100 volunteer and 123 career members.
SARS runs five stations and 20 vehicles, which includes 12 advanced life support ambulances. Stations are located in Willow Grove, Hatboro and Elkins Park.
Futhermore, per its website, SARS is a major training center for first responders and citizens in the five-county area. It offers monthly CPR and first aid classes. First responders rely on SARS for courses, like Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Life Support.
