Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary Plans Nature Nook

Fundraising focuses on supporting local businesses including Earth Day t-shirts, a win-win for our community.

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary, a Pre-K through 8th grade school in Spring House, celebrated Earth Day for the first time as a prestigious U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School! Taking its commitment to caring for the earth to another level, GMA will be installing a Nature Nook, an outdoor learning center, for the upcoming school year.

The GMA Nature Nook will be funded largely by a donation from the GMA Parents' Organization which has been engaged in active fundraising to put this project over the finish line. Looking to support small local businesses in this effort, fundraising activities include "Dine & Donates" at the Fireside, Ambler’s Juice Pod and Bridget’s, Earth Day t-shirts, DIY Easter cookie decorating kits, Pizza Kits from Collegeville Bakery and Hoagies from Sam’s Italian Market as well as many others.

Not only will the GMA Nature Nook support unique learning situations such as with COVID-19, this initiative will also provide students with opportunities to Explore, Learn and Achieve in tandem with supporting businesses in the local community.
