Ambler Man Tried To Gouge Out Tinder Date's Eye: Police

The man began seizing while smoking marijuana, and the date called 911, authorities said.

AMBLER, PA — An Ambler man tried to gouge out the eye of his Tinder date after having a seizure while smoking marijuana, according authorities.

The incident occurred on Nov. 5 at around 5:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike.

James Worthington, 35, had first met the woman earlier in the day, and they later returned to his home, police said.

After he began seizing while smoking, the date called 911, according to authorities.

Shortly thereafter, for reasons unknown, Worthington grew violent, reports indicate. When police arrived they saw Worthington sitting over the woman and beating her, authorities said.

They forced their way inside and found Worthington "sweaty" and disoriented and naked from the waist down, police said. The woman's face was bloodied.

Worthington was charged with aggravated assault and related counts.
