Local Students Honored by Colleges

Quite a few local students have done well in college this past semester, according to the numerous press releases we receive at Patch! Here is a roundup of the most recent batch of honorees. Congratulations to all of them! 

• Nicholas Mather was a recipient of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University, where Mather is a member of the Class of 2016. Mather is a graduate of La Salle College High School, in Ambler, PA.

• Craig Shapiro and Nicholas Zaharchuk, both of Blue Bell, PA and members of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University have earned dean's list status for the recently ended Fall 2012 term.

• Lindsay Sadowski of Ambler, PA, graduated with a master's of science in physician assistant studies and Andrew Trella of Blue Bell, PA, graduated with a master's of business administration in health care system management from DeSales University.

• Sara Dougherty of Ambler, PA, , has been honored for academic achievement by being named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at Delaware Valley College.

• Ambler’s Devon Cohen, a junior Occupational Therapy major, and Devon Merkle, a freshman Biochemistry major; Blue Bell’s Krista Osborne, a freshman undeclared major, Timothy Plamondon, a junior Counseling and Human Services major, and Kristen Wieland, a senior Early and Primary Teacher Education major; and Maple Glen’s Alex Kirk, a junior Management major, have been named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at the University of Scranton.

• Morgan Jones of Lower Gwynedd, PA has been named to the dean's list at Quinnipiac University for the Fall 2012 semester.

• Srinivas Sunil, of Blue Bell, a student at Wissahickon High School has been nominated to represent Pennsylvania as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2013 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University.

• Lisebeth Forbes, of Lower Gwynedd, Andrew Kagen, of Ambler, and Eric Peng, of Ambler, were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.

• Katherine Fiorito of Blue Bell has earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

• Alissa Hartenbaum of Ambler, PA made the Dean's List for Fall 2012 at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

• Margaret Jean Ebbott of Blue Bell has been named to the Dean's List at Clemson University, Clemson, SC, for the fall 2012 semester.

• Caitlin Grobaker, a psychology major from Ambler, James Grobaker, a physics/electrical engineering major from Ambler, Karalee Lamorte, a early years/special education major from Blue Bell, and Alexandra Taratuski, a biology major from Ambler, were all named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester at Widener University in Chester, PA.

• Rachel Amey , Bradley Davis, Elizabeth Devita, Brighid Imperiale, and Ryan McDonough, of Lower Gwynedd; Jason Bilotti, Lauren Galea, Jessica Keller, Emma McMasters, and Jeremy Plamondon, of Blue Bell; Taylor Bryant, Sean Clancy, Colleen McInerney, Christopher Nucero, Je Un Park, Sarah Samuels, Benjamin Shatzman, Erin Sweeney, and Megan Watson, of Ambler; and Vanessa Christopher, Jennifer Masucci, Andrew Shah, and Michael Swiren, of Maple Glen were all named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Fall 2012.
