Local Woman Collects Items for Victim of Hope Gardens Fire

One of the residents is in great need of clothing for herself and her young son.

A local woman is collecting clothing items and gift gards for the victim of last month's fire at Hope Gardens, which initially displaced six families.

One of those families is in desperate need of clothing and shoes, according to an email from Patch reader Sandra Honeycutt. The family is still displaced, and they're currently living in a hotel. Even once they return, they'll still be in need, as the fire destroyed most of their items, according to Honeycutt.

The family – a pregnant woman and her eight-year-old son – are in need of the following items:

Women

  • Business-casual work clothes and regular dress-down clothes – pants size 10 or 11 (waist size 30)
  • Blouses, shirts and tops – size large 
  • Shoes and sneakers – size  8 1/2

She is in early stages of pregnancy and could also benefit from any maternity clothing for the summer and fall.

Boys

  • pants/jeanes/shorts – size 8 to 10
  • shirts/sweaters – size small or medium
  • Shoes and sneakers – size 2 1/2 to 3
