New Wissahickon High School Plans Halted by School Board
With administrators leaving the district and an expired teachers' contract, the Wissahickon School Board is focusing its attention on those matters at present.

With staff jumping ship at Wissahickon School District and unsettled contract negotiations with the teachers' union, the Wissahickon School Board announced this week that any and all plans for a new high school will be put on hold.
School board President Young Park said the board will "focus on the administration personnel matters" and the expired teachers' contract before looking at a new school, per The Times Herald.
Since the expiration of contracts on June 30, the Wissahickon Education Alliance and the district remain at an impasse in negotiations, per the article. The WEA was hopeful in the spring that both sides could reach an agreement.
