Does Your Agency Need Additional Volunteer Support?
RSVP – Rapidly & Reliably Serving Vulnerable Populations!
1. Volunteer Availability Now
RSVP volunteers are age 18+. During the COVID-19 crisis we’re recruiting many new volunteers to meet the needs of vulnerable community members. Under Governor Wolf’s ‘Stay at Home’ order, volunteering is permissible to provide essential services.
2. Screening
After volunteers complete an online form and submit a government issued ID, RSVP will obtain criminal background checks and run NSOPW checks on all new volunteers.
If agencies need additional checks, our Clearances Service Team can process those too, with reimbursement of costs.
All new volunteers complete a self-screening questionnaire regarding potential COVID-19 exposure. If any risks are identified, they will not be able to volunteer at the current time.
RSVP staff share details of specific assignments with volunteers and conduct 1:1 phone interviews to determine suitability.
3. Referral and Placements
After screening is complete, RSVP will connect volunteers with agenciesand programs that have requested help. Agencies can schedule start times directly with the volunteer or volunteers can be directed to the current onboarding procedures.
RSVP staff are all working remotely to fast-track volunteers to where they are needed most.
If your agency needs additional volunteers to provide assistance, in-person, online or to provide support by phone visit www.rsvpmc.org
4. Beyond the Crisis
RSVP volunteers have been responding to community needs since 1973. Last year, 1,200 RSVP volunteers served more than 11,000 local vulnerable individuals. RSVP services are available in the short, medium and long-term. Stay connected and follow us on Facebook at RSVP, Inc. and visit rsvpmc.org for updates.
These are unprecedented times and we are committed to doing our part in ensuring the safety and well being of our partner agencies, our volunteers as well as community residents.
