Stolen Caramel Crèmes Lead to Felony Charges for Local Woman, Police Say

Retail Theft: On March 26 at 7:26 a.m., police were called to the Wawa Food Market at 1015 Dekalb Pike for a report of a theft.

An employee reported that Gina Valerio, 22, of the 1400 block of Skippack Pike, had allegedly entered the store, stole at least four bags of caramel crèmes and then left the store driving a burgundy Cobalt with a PA registration. It was also learned that this was not the first time Valerio allegedly stole items from the store, and that the staff was familiar with her because she was previously employed there.

Felony retail theft and receiving stolen property charges were filed because Valerio had previous retail theft convictions. A warrant was later issued for her arrest.

On April 1, Whitpain Police received confirmation from Chester County Prison that Valerio was in custody on an unrelated charge, and she was later detained on Whitpain's arrest warrant.

Retail Theft: Nadine Baumgardner, 29, of the 5100 block of Brandywine Drive, Eagleville, was arrested for retail theft on March 29 at 2:06 p.m.

Police were called to Kohl’s Department Store, 1301 Skippack Pike, where the loss prevention officer had Baumgardner in custody after she allegedly attempted to steal $346.50 worth of merchandise.

She is being charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Retail Theft: Khaleelah Everett, 27, of the unit block of East Chestnut Street, Norristown, is charged with retail theft after an incident that occurred on February 8 at 3:58 p.m. at the Giant Food Store located on the 1700 block Dekalb Pike.

Police received a report that a black female allegedly stole six electric tooth brushes, valued at $182.94, and then fled the store in a Jeep Liberty.

Through an investigation, it was learned that Everett was the alleged offender, and she later admitted to the theft, the report states.

Retail Theft: On April 12 at 5:13 p.m., Rosina Ball, 53, of the 500 block of East Basin Street, Norristown, was arrested for retail theft and receiving stolen property after she attempted to steal $692 worth of jewelry and clothing items.

She was arraigned by District Justice Kate McGill and bail was set at $2,000 unsecured. (Editor's note: This report did not mention the location of the alleged theft)
