Upper Gwynedd Gets $1.2M To Replace Sumneytown Pike Bridge

The major grant from the state is one of three projects totaling millions in Montgomery County.

UPPER GWYNEDD, PA — Upper Gwynedd Township has received a major grant from the state to improve a local bridge.

The state has awarded the township $1.24 million to reconstruct the Sumneytown Pike Bridge, which passes over Wissahickon Creek.

It's part of $45.9 million in investments in 43 different transportation projects across the state.

“Transportation moves communities and economies forward,” Gov. Wolf said in a statement. “These investments will assist with overall mobility and safety in our local communities.”

An exact timetable for the bridge replacement has not yet been announced.
