Wheel Flies Off Truck, Crushes SUV On PA Turnpike In Whitpain
Two people were injured in the incident Monday.

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people were injured after a wheel flew off a truck and smashed into another vehicle on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Montgomery County on Monday, according to authorities and media reports.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on the Northeast Extension near mile marker 22.8 in Whitpain Township.
The condition of the two victims is not yet known.

6ABC reports the truck was in the northbound lanes when it lost the tire, and that it struck an SUV heading in the southbound direction.
The incident left the SUV "partially crushed," Fox 29 reports.

A portion of the roadway was shut down for hours in both directions following the crash. The road is fully reopen Tuesday morning.
