Are you clearing out closets this winter? Several sneaker recycling organizations claim that over 200 million pairs of sneakers end up in the landfill each year, and an EPA 2017 report showed that 66% of municipal waste comes from textiles, which includes sneakers. 

These days there are several ways to donate, re-use and recycle those old sneakers. So instead of throwing them in the trash, do an online search for “Recycle old sneakers” or click here for local organizations to help.
