Whitpain Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Norristown Trio
Three Norristown residents are facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Muhlenburg Drive in Whitpain Township.

Three Norristown residents are facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Muhlenburg Drive during the evening of March 3.
According to the report, police stopped a suspicious vehicle on Muhlenburg Drive near the intersection of Sterling Way at 10:12 p.m. During the stop, officers allegedly located approximately 1½ ounces of marijuana inside of the vehicle, which was occupied by three passengers in addition to the driver.

While taking the occupants into custody, the report states that the front-seat passenger – identified as Brittanie Turano, 22, of Norristown – was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and a pink .380 Taurus handgun. While attempting to take the driver – identified as Andrew Callen, 23, of Norristown – into custody, he allegedly attempted to flee the scene before being apprehended following a brief foot chase.
A second passenger – identified as Ryan Callen, 24, of Norristown – was also taken into custody and later charged.

As a result of the traffic stop, all three were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver, and possession of paraphernalia. Andrew Callen was also charged with escape.
The fourth occupant of the vehicle was also taken to the police station, but they were released without being charged.
Both Andrew and Ryan Callen were arraigned by District Justice Sobeck, with bail being set at $5,000 unsecured. Turano was also arraigned by Sobeck, with bail being set at $2,500 unsecured.
