Ardmore Verizon Store Robbed At Knifepoint

Two men wielding knives forced their way into the store Wednesday morning, police said.

Two men wielding knives threatened staff at the Ardmore Verizon Wireless store Wednesday morning before stealing a number of cell phones from the business and driving off, Lower Merion police said in a news release.

Police are looking for the two robbers, whom witnesses described as:

  • A black male between 20 and 30 years old, unshaven, wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans
  • A black male, between 20 and 30 years old, unshaven, wearing a khaki button-down and a plaid baseball-style cap

On Wednesday April 10, 2013 at approximately 11:14 a.m., two males forced their way into the Verizon Wireless Store located at 195 West Lancaster Avenue in the Ardmore section of Lower Merion Township.

They produced knives and proceeded to force the staff behind the counter. They then proceeded to remove an unknown quantity of cellular telephones from the victim business.

Witnesses provided the following descriptions:

Actor 1 is described as a black male, 20-30 yrs. of age, unshaven, wearing a blue colored plaid shirt and blue jeans.

Actor 2 is described as a black male, 20-30 yrs. of age, unshaven, wearing a khaki colored button-down shirt and a “burberry cap.”

No injuries were reported.

The actors were last seen leaving in a Blue Dodge Caravan, east on Lancaster Avenue.
