Drunken Ardmore Man Calls Cops, Tells Them To Break Down Door, Police Say

The 21-year-old was cited for public drunkenness, according to Lower Merion police.

A 21-year-old Ardmore man was cited for public drunkenness after he called police to ask them to break down his door Wednesday night, police said at a Monday briefing.

Around 12:44 a.m. on April 11, police were dispatched following a call from an agitated man who told police he was being locked out of his apartment by his roommates, according to the report.

Police found the man pacing on the unit block of W Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore, smelling of alcohol, disheveled, and covered in dirt and debris, according to the report. The man said he was locked out and wanted police to force entry into his apartment.

Police refused, and asked the man to settle the issue with his roommates, and the man refused, police said. After refusing several opportunities to call someone to pick him up, the man was cited for public drunkenness, according to the report.
