Fellini's Cafe To Reopen May 9

The Italian restaurant has been closed since March for water damage and code violations.

, which has been , will reopen for dinner on May 9, owner Giuseppe D'Alto told Patch.

The cafe, located at 31 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore, closed after on the second floor of the restaurant's building caused water damage from the second floor down to the basement of the building.

When a Montgomery County Health Department inspector visited the building on March 7 to investigate the flood damage,  multiple code violations were discovered.

The March 7 health inspection report reads: "Facility has voluntarily closed and must remain closed until all repairs are made, all surfaces cleaned and sanitized and power and gas restored.   Facility must remain closed until granted written permission from the MCHD."

On May 3, the county conducted another health inspection, and granted Fellini's permission to reopen "contingent upon all other necessary approvals."

The restaurant has retained the same owner and manager. "Everything's the same," D'Alto said. 

As of May 9, there is still a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. A sign that was still up on May 4 indicated that busboys, waiters and kitchen staff were wanted.

Fellini's will open at 5 p.m. on May 9 for dinner, D'Alto said. It will be open every day for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m.
