Lower Merion Schools Hosting Substance Abuse Discussion Dec 13
The discussion, titled "Substance Abuse: Risks, Effects and Helpful Conversations," will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion School District is hosting a Zoom discussion on substance abuse later this month.
At 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, the district's Interschool Council and Student Services Department will be hosting "Substance Abuse: Risks, Effects and Helpful Conversations."
Gretchen Hagenbuch, Regional Coordinator of Student Assistance Programs at Caron Treatment Centers, will help parents and guardians understand the current substances being used by young adults, risk factors for a substance abuse disorder and how substances impact growing bodies.

The event will also feature discussion on how to initiate and navigate difficult conversations with students.
Lower Merion School District Student Services Team member, Diane Zuroski, will highlight the START program and supports in place at Lower Merion School District.
