Merion Art And Repro Center Closing After 50-Plus Years

The business is hosting a retirement sale this week as owner and founder Ed Gamburg plans to close the business after more than 50 years.

ARDMORE, PA — After more than half a century, an Ardmore staple is closing its doors.

Merion Art and Repro Center will close for good soon, but not before a retirement sale.

Founded by Ed Gamburg and the late Lou Simeone in 1971, the West Lancaster Avenue is holding a retirement sale this week.

The sale will run from Thursday through June, or until sell out.

Customers will find progressive discounts on the store's entire inventory, with savings up to 75 percent off. Additionally, all store fixtures and equipment will be sold.

New custom framing jobs are no longer accepted. Any existing framing jobs will be completed before the store's closing.

What began as a small shop offering white-prints (similar to blue-prints) to local architects, engineers, and builders expanded over the years to include drafting materials, art supplies, and custom framing.
