ARDMORE, PA — Ardmore's Schauffele Plaza hosted the Aki Matsuri Fall Festival from the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia Saturday.

From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the festival featured traditional music and dancing by the Seabrook Minyo Dance Group, Japanese games such as YoYo Tsuri (YoYo Balloon Fishing), karaoke, Japanese food by Maido!, taiko drumming by Casual Fifth and KyoDaiko, origami and lantern making, a cosplay fashion show, and more.

Rooted in centuries-old Shinto harvest traditions, Aki Matsuri festivals give thanks to the Kami, which are spirits, for a bountiful season.
