Main Line Crash Leaves Teen With Life-Threatening Injuries

Officials said the young man rolled over a Jeep Cherokee he was driving Friday evening, striking another vehicle and injuring its driver.

VILLANOVA, PA — A Friday evening crash in Villanova left a young man in critical condition, according to Lower Merion Township officials.

The crash happened at about 8:04 p.m. on the 1900 block of Montgomery Avenue in Villanova, officials said.

A 2019 Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on that block Villanova lost control, rolled over, and crossed into the eastbound lanes, striking a 2024 Lexus RX350.

The Jeep's driver and sole occupant, a 19-year-old man, suffered life-threatening
injuries. He was taken to Lankenau Hospital by Narberth Ambulance and as of Saturday morning was listed in critical condition.

A 42-year-old woman was the driver and sole occupants of the Lexus, and she was taken to Lankenau Hospital for injuries. Authorities said she is in stable condition.

Neither driver was identified by authorities.

Montgomery Avenue was closed between North Stone Ridge Lane and Matsonford Road for four-and-a-half hours during the crash investigation. The road reopened 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Lower Merion Township Police Traffic Safety Unit is still investigating the crash.
