Main Line Spot Serves One Of Philly's Best BLTs, Inquirer Says

As tomatoes ripen across the region, the Inquirer released a guide of the best BLT spots in the region. This Bala Cynwyd place made the cut.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — Tomatoes are popping up all around this time of year.

With Philadelphia being so close to the fertile soils of New Jersey, tomatoes are the star ingredient in many dishes in and around the city.

And possibly the best method of eating a tomato is a BLT sandwich.

The humble sandwich is a summertime favorite, and a Bala Cynwyd spot has one of the region's best.

At least that's according to Philadelphia Inquirer writer Hira Qureshi.

Qureshi published a list of the best places to get a BLT in and around Philly.

Among them was Bala Cynwyd's The Landing Kitchen.

Located at Ironworks at Penncoyd Landing, 617 Righters Ferry Road, The Landing Kitchen's BLT was one of only few outside the city proper to be featured.

Here's what Qureshi said about the BLT at The Landing Kitchen:

At the Landing Kitchen in Bala Cynwyd, the $14 BLT gets herbaceous with a green goddess yogurt-based dressing, meaty slices of heirloom tomatoes, and thick-cut crispy bacon between two slices of whole grain bread. The sandwich will be a recurring special starting at the beginning of August.
