The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) recently announced that Harriton High School eleventh grade violinist Hannah Gao and flautist Clara Zhu have been named to the 2021-22 Pennsylvania All-State Orchestra. The selection comes on the heels of the pair's selection to both the PMEA District and Regional orchestras earlier this winter.

The mission of PMEA is to advance the study of music education throughout the commonwealth while encouraging excellence in the study and teaching of music. The association supports and promotes quality music education through the sponsorship of workshops, conferences, performances and festivals throughout the commonwealth. In addition, students enrolled in music education may participate in collegiate chapters of PMEA and secondary students may participate in the Tri-M Honor Society. PMEA also provides a number of resources and materials designed to assist music educators in their educational pursuits.
After a three-year hiatus, the PMEA is excited to welcome back all of this year's All-State honorees representing the best-of-the-best from throughout Pennsylvania to April's fast-approaching All-State Festival as the organization continues to elevate and celebrate the musical achievements of these talented student-musicians.
