Man Shot In Ambush-Style Robbery On Main Line: Police

The shooting occurred Saturday night in the garage of an apartment building on Asaph's Road in Bala Cynwyd.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A man was shot during an unsuccessful robbery attempt in Bala Cynwyd over the weekend, Lower Merion Police said.

The shooting occurred at about 10:57 p.m. at an apartment building on the unit block of Asaphs Road in Bala Cynwyd.

A 39-year-old man was shot and taken to a local hospital, where he is in serious but stable condition, police said.

According to police, the man was shot during an unsuccessful ambush-style robbery in the stairwell of the building's garage.

The shooter may still be armed.

Police said the incident does not appear to be random, but still urged residents in the area to remain vigilant when in stairwells.
