Narberth Dickens Festival 2021: What You Need To Know

The Narberth Dickens Festival transform downtown Narberth into a Victorian village from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

NARBERTH, PA — Downtown Narberth will undergo its annual transition into a Victorian festival this weekend with the Narberth Dickens Festival.

The festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in downtown Narberth.

Guests can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday crafts, carolers, period vendors and food, dancers, musicians, ballet performances, puppet shows, magicians, puppeteers, a free Dickens-themed scavenger hunt for children, and much more in Narberth as it's dressed up as 1840s London.

Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, other characters from Dickens's "A Christmas Carol," and dozens of period-authentic costumed performers will roam the streets throughout the afternoon. There will be a reading of the story itself at the Narberth Bookshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids will be able to enjoy a free scavenger hunt with free prizes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. as well as free crafts and activities.

"A Muppets Christmas Carol" will be shown for free at 11 a.m. at the Reel Cinemas Narberth 2.

For food and drink, guests can enjoy period-inspired vendors and street food, hot toddy drinks for those 21 and older, and hot chocolate.

Music will be provided by professional brass musicians, the "Men of Harmony" Dickensian carolers, the Waldron Mercy "Treblemakers" Choir, and the Narberth Community Theater Singers.

The day will also feature performances by the Kingsessing Morris Men and the Fiddlekicks dancers, Ari Paul the Entertainer, Phydeaux’s Flying Flea Circus & Wahoo Medicine Show, and Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet which will perform dance excerpts from the "Nutcracker."

The Narberth Civic Association is seeking volunteers for the festival.

Two shifts available, one from noon to 2 p.m. and the other from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
