Police Blotter: Gym Patrons Lose Hundreds in Locker Break-Ins

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion Township police reported to news media the following crimes and incidents from the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch area in the past week:
Theft: A locker at was broken into between 10:15 and 11:30 a.m. March 13 while the victim was working out, police said. An iPhone, valued at $500, was stolen from the locked locker, police said. While police were investigating the first incident, a second person said their locker was broken into as well, between 11 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. the same day. A Blackberry, cell phone and wallet containing various credit and debit cards, all of which were valued at about $400, were stolen from the second locker, police said. No one was seen or heard in either incident.
Theft: A wallet containing cash was stolen from about 11:50 p.m. March 13, police said. An employee had the wallet in an apron, and no one was seen removing the wallet, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to a call on the first block of St. Asaph's Road in Bala Cynwyd about 1:18 a.m. March 18, police said. Michael O’Connor, 31, of the first block of St. Asaphs Road, was arrested and charged with public drunkenness, police said.
Theft: An iPhone was stolen from a bench in the locker room of LA Fitness at about 2:25 p.m. March 18. The phone was recovered behind Delancey Street Bagels in Wynnewood after being located through the phone’s tracking device, police said. The phone had been wiped down and there were no fingerprints, police said.
