Popular Middle Eastern Restaurant Expanding To Main Line

Malooga, a Yemeni restaurant in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood, is planning a new location on the Main Line for later this year.

NARBERTH, PA — The Main Line's dining options continue to expand thanks to Philadelphia's booming food scene and the increasing ability of its restaurants to grow their presence in the region.

And the one of the newest newcomers to the Main Line is Old City's Malooga.

It opened at 134 Chestnut St. in 2021, and will open at 203 Haverford Ave. in Narberth this year.

"Every bite on our menu tells a story rooted in heritage and made with love," the Malooga website reads, in part. "Our founder, driven by the desire to share authentic Yemeni recipes in a modern, welcoming way, started Malooga to fill a gap in the culinary landscape."

Malooga launched a crowdfunding campaign that, so far, has raised nearly $87,000 for the new location as of Thursday morning. This campaign is a bit different from other crowdfunding campaigns, as those who contribute will earn a portion of profits from the Narberth Malooga location.
