Principal Pied In the Face By Lower Merion School District Students
Cynwyd Elementary Principal Tyrone Ross caught pies in the face from students who raised money to help fight food insecurity.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A principal in the Lower Merion School District got a pie to his face after his school's students sold pies to fight food insecurity.
Cynwyd Elementary School Principal Tyrone Ross Wednesday morning was pied by students who sold the most Thanksgiving pies in a school-wide fundraiser to fight food insecurity.
All grades at the school competed to see who could sell the most Linvilla holiday pies. The sales raised money for the Home & School Association and provided 40 pies to neighbors in need through the community organization Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

The fourth grade won the competition and the opportunity to throw "Pies at Ty" four times – but all other grades, some staff members, and even Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni also got in on the pie-throwing fun.
"Thank you very much for your donation of Linvilla Orchard Pies! Our families were so happy to receive this sweet treat, which lined up seamlessly with our annual Thanksgiving Box giveaway," Muneera Walker, Founder and Executive Director of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, said. "Our community truly benefited from your generosity and we hope to continue this relationship!"
