Thieves Grab Tools and Jewelry in Bala Cynwyd, Police Say

On Monday afternoon, reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd area:
Theft: About $7,000 worth of materials and tools were stolen from the 300 block of Bangor Road in Bala Cynwyd sometime between June 22 and 25, police said. The contractors’ tools, along with eight new windows and some scrap metal, were taken from an open porch area.
Burglary: Jewelry, electronics, cash and change were stolen from the 500 block of Cynwyd Circle between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. June 28, police said. Entry was through an unlocked door, police said. The items stolen were valued at about $3,500.

Public drunkenness: A 29-year-old Sharon Hill man was charged with public drunkenness after being found unconscious near the bridge at Presidential Boulevard and City Avenue about 11 p.m. June 29, police said.
Public drunkenness: A 48-year-old Bala Cynwyd man waved down a police officer on the 100 block of City Avenue in front of and tried to get into the passenger door of the police car, which was locked, police said. The man was cited for public drunkenness upon sobering, police said.
