Option Fire Public Hearing, Liberty Tunnels Reopening (& Closing), and More

Here are five things that Baldwin-Whitehall folks would want to know this week.

Busy week! Here are five things that you'll want to know:

1. The southbound (outbound) Liberty Tunnel reopens at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, but will still be closed overnight while the inbound side gets worked on.

2. The northbound (inbound) Liberty Tunnel will close at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and not reopen until 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30.

3. Broughton and Horning roads on the border of Baldwin Borough and South Park Township will be reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic from 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, through 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 (around-the-clock).

4. A public hearing will be held in the auditorium of the Baldwin Borough Municipal Building along Churchview Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in which the questionable future of the Option Independent Fire Company will be discussed.
