'Project Clean Up' in Baldwin Aug. 10; Volunteers Needed
North Baldwin's riverfront area is in need of cleanup, event organizers say.

Multiple organizations are involved in a "Project Clean Up" event in Baldwin Borough scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, but volunteers are still needed.
The event's organizers—among them are Wish 99.7 FM and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania—say that part of a riverfront bike trail that runs through north Baldwin is overgrown and needs brush cleared from there, trees pruned and new flowers planted.
"There is also a small rest station where picnic tables need sanded and repainted," according to a news release.
Volunteers are being asked to give a few hours of their time on Saturday, Aug. 10, in order to do some of that work. The cleanup will start at 9 that morning, with snacks, drinks and lunch provided by Turkey Hill Dairy, Isaly's and Smith's Hot Dogs.

Event organizers are also looking for a business partner, or partners, that may be able to provide a "Welcome to Baldwin" sign in the area or even a bench or picnic table.
Interested business owners should call 412-875-4831.
