Council OKs Parx Expansion Plan

Bensalem Council Monday unanimously approved a development plan at that will add a 37,000 square-foot expansion to a previously approved 87,000 square-foot plan.

Minimal testimony was solicited from Parx professionals and zero public comment occurred before council members voted to allow the expansion.

The new expansion plan will add about 60 feet along the entire rear of the casino, casino officials said. About half of the area will be for front-of-the-house operations like gaming and restaurant space and half for back-of –the-house uses like employee dining and office space, they added.

Parx currently has 3,391 slot machines and 150 gaming tables, according to the most recent revenue reports. The casino also boasts several restaurants and nightclubs.

Casino patrons can expect construction to begin this summer.
