Former 'Nova Stars Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart Pay $10K Bar Tab In Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, PA — Two former Villanova University basketball stars and now current NBA stars gave back to their alma mater recently. Sort of.

Former Wildcats Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were back on Villanova's campus Wednesday to record an episode of their podcast, "Roommates," which got its name due to the two living together while playing and studying on the Main Line.

They had a few special guests — Eagles legend Jason Kelce, former Villanova men's basketball coach Jay Wright, and former Wildcat and current Dallas Wings forward Madison Siegrist — for their live episode recording at Villanova's Finneran Pavilion.

And according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Brunson made a quip about visiting Kelly's Taproom in nearby Bryn Mawr.

Unfortunately for 'Nova fans and students, the two did not make an appearance at the beloved watering hole.

But they did make it up to fans.

Brunson and Hart took to social media to announce drinks at Kelly's were on them for the night Saturday.

From 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, the duo paid for 'Nova fans and students drinks at Kelly's.

The Inquirer reports the tab reached $10,000.

Kelly's owner Gene Mitchell told the Inquirer that the move by Hart and Bruson, as well as the respectfulness from Villanova students, is a "true testament to the community."

Brunson and Hart helped Wright lead the Wildcats to a NCAA championship in 2016. Brunson was also on the 2018 championship-winning team.
