Annual Garrett Hill Tree Lighting Ceremony Slated For Sunday

Masks are required at this year's event, which will also be streamed online for those who do not want to attend in person.

BRYN MAWR, PA — The 6th Annual Garrett Hill Tree Lighting Celebration is all set to take place this weekend in Bryn Mawr.

The tree lighting will occur at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29 in the Clem Macrone Park parking lot.

This year's annual tree lighting in Garrett Hill will be a bit different, as have many events been due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While the tree lighting event is open to the public, it will also be streamed live online on the Radnor Township Recreation Department Facebook page.

The ceremony will be shorter than past years, with limited guest speakers, and residents won't be able to hang events on the tree at the event; families are encouraged to visit the park at a later time to do so on their own time.

Following the ceremony, residents are invited to attend an open house at All Seasons Produce and Flowers, at which there will be hot chocolate and snacks. The open house will be held outside with social distancing. Facemasks are required at the open house.

Those who are planning to attend in person are required to wear masks and are encouraged to not congregate with others outside their family, as well as exercise extreme social distancing.

Anyone feeling coronavirus symptoms, has tested positive for coronavirus, or who has had a family member exposed to coronavirus should not attend.

Clem Macrone Park is located at 810 Conestoga Road and All Seasons is located at 912 Conestoga Road.

In the event of inclement weather, the lighting will be held on Friday, Dec. 6.
