Here's what food writer Jenn Ladd had to say about the West Lancaster Avenue pizza and steak shop:

Once you order and slide into a laminate booth in the back dining room and look around, though, you’ll spot the cheesesteak hunters. They come for Johnny’s 20-inch steaks: griddled with just the right amount of grease and lava-like cheese (try the spicy Cooper), and served on a crunchy-chewy sesame-seeded roll. If cheesesteaks are your jam, don’t miss them. Otherwise, prepare for maybe the best pizza in the region. Brooklyn-trained pizzaiolo John Bisceglie makes unforgettable pies both thick and thin(ish), rectangular and round, red and white. Bisceglie has dialed in every detail, from the hand-crushed tomato sauce to the mozzarella blend to the dough, fermented for up to 48 hours. The grandma and plain pies are exceptional, especially with those perfectly cupped pepperonis, but whatever you do, get a white pie (fresh mozz, caramelized onions, lemony ricotta, Pecorino-Romano, and fresh parsley on a sesame-seeded crust).

Johnny's located at 1025 W. Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr, is the only Main Line eatery to make the list and boasts 4.7 stars out of 395 reviews on Google.

"The standout at this spot, in my opinion, is definitely the cheesesteaks," one reviewer said. "The meat-to-cheese ratio is spot on, and the seeded rolls are soft yet hold up well, an excellent balance."

"Alright folks I’m just gonna say it…one of thee’ best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had, no exaggerations," another wrote.

"I decided to try Johnny's Cheese steak sandwich based on the glowing reviews, and I must say, this place lives up to its reputation," another person said.
