ABOUT DCYO
The Delaware County Youth Orchestra, under the baton of Conductor Andrew Hauze, is a highly selective ensemble of talented musicians. Now in its48th season, the orchestra has 92 student members who range in age from 7th to 12th grade. This full symphony orchestra is dedicated to
providing young people of exceptional ability with an opportunity to rehearse and perform major works from the standard symphonic repertoire. Three concerts are performed during the academic year. Although the orchestra’s home base is in Delaware County, members come from
throughout the tri-county area as well as from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware.

ABOUT YMO
For intermediate-level musicians, we offer the Young Musicians’ Orchestra, which also rehearses weekly and performs two concerts during the academic year. The YMO comprises students in grades 4 to 12, with the majority of players in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Students of any age, from all geographic regions, are welcome to audition. The orchestra's repertoire consists of standard original classical works and quality high-school-level arrangements of classical works. The YMO is conducted by Nicholas Pignataro.

NEXT SEASON
We are hopeful that we will be able to offer in-person rehearsals in the 2021-2022 season, and we will return to our normal in-person format as soon as it is safe to do so.

“I consider DCYO to be the premier youth orchestra in our region. Themusic making is exceptional, the repertoire is fantastic, and all the members enjoy each other’s company so much. There is a reason my daughter was a member for years and looked forward to every rehearsal
and concert – this orchestra is an important and cherished part of her life.” David Kim, Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra, is a memberof the DCYO Advisory Board and is an ardent supporter of the orchestra.
