Body Pulled from Schuylkill River in Passyunk

Police pulled the body of an unidentified woman from the Schuylkill in Passyunk Monday night.

An unidentified woman’s body has been pulled from the Schuylkill River Monday night, Philly.com reports.

The body was discovered near the Passyunk Avenue bridge at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to reports.

The woman was pronounced dead at 7 p.m., according to NBC 10. The woman’s identity and cause of death are under investigation.

This is the second body found in Philadelphia in the past few days. Another unidentified woman’s body was discovered Friday on Little Tinicum Island in the Delaware River, just south of the Philadelphia International Airport.

An investigation is pending, but Chester Police Commissioner Joseph Bail Jr. told reporters that preliminary information indicates the body is that of a woman who has not been seen since she walked away from her home on March 21.
