Chestnut Hill Harry Potter Fest Gets New Name After Legal Threat

Chestnut Hill's Harry Potter Festival will now be called "Wands & Wizards" after Warner Bros. issued organizers a cease and desist letter.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – While many may have thought the popular Chestnut Hill Harry Potter Festival was done for, it seems the festival will live on in spirit under a new moniker.

According to VisitPhilly.com, the annual fall festival will now be called "Wands & Wizards in Chestnut Hill."

The name change comes after Warner Brothers, which owns the rights to the Harry Potter franchise, issued a cease and desist letter organizers of the festival, as well as those of similar festivals, halting the events from using names or images associated with Harry Potter, as well as other specific Warner Brothers copyrighted specifics.
