Free 'Black Panther' Showing In Mt Airy Friday Night

The hit Marvel film is coming to Mt. Airy on Friday as part of Go Mt. Airy's "Moonlight Movies" series. Don't miss it!

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – Go Mt. Airy's "Moonlight Movie" series is back this Friday and the movie being shown was such a hit it's generated more than $1 billion globally.

At about 8:15 p.m. on Friday, the New Covenant Church of Philadelphia will host a free showing of Marvel's 2018 hit "Black Panther."

Chadwick Bosemen, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker lead the cast.

Black Panther follows T'Challa who, after the events of "Captain America: Civil War," returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T'Challa's mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

The film, which runs two hours and 15 minutes, has made more than $1.3 billion dollar globally since its February release.

While the movie starts at sunset, the fun begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Tot Cart and Side of the Road Authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken food trucks will be serving up food to attendees.

Those looking to take in the movie should bring their own blankets or camp chairs.

Moonlight Movies is hosted by Mt. Airy, USA and Trolley Car Diner, with support from Inspire, Chestnut Hill Hospital - Tower Health, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

The New Covenant Church of Philadelphia campus is located at 7500 Germantown Ave.
